So how does the green heron hide its neck when it isn't in use?
In terms of "small," following is a comparison shot between a green heron and a great blue heron.
Okay. The above wasn't the sharpest photo I've ever taken, but trying to get birds to cooperate is always a challenge. I've a few better great blue heron photos here. Photo note: I used a Pentax *ist D, with the SMC 1000mm reflex lens (for the first two photos) and the SMC 400-600mm reflex zoom (for the third photo). |
