By the Light of the Moon | 10 Feb. 2014 |
Landscape photography with moonlight and snow is magical. The snow lightens the foreground, adding contrast to the trees and sky. And when else can a person have a starry sky to enhance the mood?
Conditions - such as a reasonably clear night, a bright moon, and thorough snow covering - do not happen as often as I would prefer; however, the year is off to a good start. |
Although the thin cloud cover diminished the overall lighting possible (and required a longer exposure for scenes), the moon itself adds its own magic. |
Want to discuss luck? Last Tuesday I finally captured a meteor trail, something entirely unexpected. |
Care to make a wish or two on a falling star?
Camera note: I used a Pentax K20D, with the SMC-A f2.8 20mm lens, on 6 Feb. 2014 for these photos.
