Palm Warbler | May 4, 2008 |
|
This morning, I saw and photographed a palm warbler. Last year, also in the beginning of May, was the first time I had ever encountered one. (Last year's photos are also better - so much for my hope of improved photography).
The palm warbler has the distinction of being the only yellowish warbler with a brown cap (and I love it for that fact alone - something I can identify).

The downside of the above and following photograph is that since the warbler is against the sky, it's partially silhouetted.

The next photo is as obscured by many branches, but the palm warbler's colors (and particularly its cap) are clearly visible.

Maybe next year, a palm warbler will cooperate a little more.
Photo note: I used a Pentax *ist D, with the SMC 1000mm reflex lens. The photos date from May 2, 2007. |
