By the Toftree pond, I'm accustomed to tundra swans flying far overhead during spring migration.

And sometimes they fly closer . . . but overhead.

So it was a very happy time for me, in mid-March, when as many as sixty swans used the pond as a stopover.
|

On the extreme right of the photo is a male American wigeon (duck with a white stripe on his forehead), and on the extreme left is a female American wigeon.
