Birds Welcoming Spring | April 2006 |
|
You have to imagine the sound, but the following photos show birds opening their beaks in praise of spring.
A couple of weeks ago, a song sparrow began singing.

In the past week, the local northern mockingbird started tuning up.

Yesterday, this Carolina wren was giving all it had and something more.
Photo note: I bought a new lens - the Pentax SMC 1000mm reflex - which I'm using with my Pentax *ist D. Being somewhat farther away from a bird's "danger zone," I'm getting a wider variety of poses. Or maybe it's spring, everyone is singing, and who cares whether any photographers are about. |
