Fluffed Birds | December 26, 2010 |
|
Birds have an uncanny ability to fluff out all their feathers, whether for warmth or any other purposes (such as drying after a bath).
The otherwise trim American tree sparrow demonstrates a good fluff.
|
But the following white-throated sparrow should receive a reward for its ability to resemble a sphere.
| |
Both the American tree sparrow and the white-throated sparrow looks like amateurs in comparison to the following American robin.
| |
The robin looks like it must have been attacked in Photoshop, but I didn't have to do a single thing to the image. It was one incredibly fluffed out robin.
Photo note: I used a Pentax K20D, with the Sigma 150-500mm lens, for the first two photos (Dec. 2010) and with the Pentax SMC 1000mm reflex lens for the third (Sept. 2010). |
