Charging in with wings flailing and splashing, a rogue swan appeared out of nowhere and divided the couple.

Very proud of the achievement, the newcomer (who I dubbed Godzilla swan) then stood up and trumpeted the victory.

Incidentally, the reddish color of Godzilla is due to algae in the lake, although I wouldn't be surprised if some swans sported more color than others, according to their moods naturally.
I'm sure Godzilla was very pleased with his warpaint.
